UT rush is incredibly competitive due to the high number of legacies and in state students who already have connections with the chapters, plus the number of PNMs who only seem to want one of six chapters. Chi O did end up rushing against Kappa because Kappa branches out more than Pi Phi and Theta so Chi O has to rush against them. The Pi Phis were from 4 different schools, and they were all the most beautiful group of girls, classy, richer than the 1 Kappa, and fun. My fear is that rather than focusing on things you can control (conversation skills, brushing up your resume, getting recs in order, rush wardrobe, grooming) you are looking for something that quite frankly, you are going to have very little control over at all.

,If you are coming to UT really raw, meaning no greek connections what so ever, you have a very large uphill battle. Neither one is the "sorority type". ADPi: Not a fan favorite during rush. IMO will join middle tier in the next few years. Especially those that try to tell you what an organization of thousands of women across the entire US is like. AXO and DG not too far behind. Lot of truth inthe reputations, except there are a lot of really genuine, nice, friendly Pi Phis who are my friends. AZD may be pretty but is not classy. Not one!!! I can agree it has to be an objective sort, of survey that produces such varied results, but as there many kinds of, people, there must be many kinds of "groups" to belong to. Even if you don't think sororities are for you, I would suggest just giving it a shot. I see Chi O as a mix of Theta and Kappa type girls just below PKT. Some party girls and some not. She did not have anyone in any houses pulling for her as our high school is very lowly represented at UT. hey!! Everyone knows at least one KD they really like and one KD they really hate. Also remember that each sorority is special in their own way and just because you arent in the same chapter as your friend or someone else doesnt mean you cant be friends or be supportive of their chapter. Pi Phi is the beautiful, richest sorority on top at my HUGE frat/sor oriented school and kappa and Chi o are the bottom.
